Acupressure is an ancient Chinese Healing Art originating approximately 5000 years ago predating acupuncture. It is based on the same principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Shiatsu Massage is the Japanese form of Acupressure.
Acupressure works with horses, dogs, cats, birds and cattle, among other animals as well as humans. It can be used as a preventative measure by maintaining a proper energetic balance in your animal. A balanced animal is a healthy animal.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) energetic imbalances can lead to disease. (Dis-ease). Accupressure can also be used to help solve existing problems and speed the healing process from disease, injury or surgery.
It may also help perceived behavioral problems. The animal may actually be experiencing pain. By working these “points” it releases energy blockages along specific pathways in the body known as meridians. This can keep your pet healthy, happy and more flexible.
Accupressure can also address emotional issues. Moving, losing a friend, boredom or other stress issues can cause an energy imbalance.
Accupressure is not a diagnosis or treatment for illness. It promotes health. It is used as a preventative treatment that involves the whole body to achieve and maintain balance.
